Duties and responsibilities: Veterinarians work with animals. They diagnose and treat diseases and dysfunctions of animals. They sometimes even perform surgery.

Salary: Veterinarians earned a median salary of $86,640 in 2013. The best-paid veterinarians earned $149,530, while the lowest-paid earned $53,270.

Education: Would-be veterinarians must hold a bachelor's degree at a four-year college before moving on to veterinary medicine school. Undergraduate work should focus on chemistry, biology, zoology, physiology, microbiology and anatomy.

Reflection: I would not like to become an Vetenerian because I don’t like animals. Being one always seemed cool but it never really caught my attention!
